Description of Mavic Crossmax SL Pro WTS 27.5" UST Wheelset with Tires - 6-Hole - FW: 15x100mm/QR | RW: 12x135mm/12x142mm/QR - 2016 - black / grey Exclusive technologies and a brand new tire for fast and light all-round performances MTB is part of the Mavic DNA. Crossmax stands for MTB. No matter in which conditions, whether Enduro or Cross Country, for each purpose, there is a Crossmax. Crossmax SL Pro is the first mountain bike wheel to use the Mavic patented ISM 4D technology. The rim is strategically machined to reduce weight and inertia, removing material where it's not needed and keeping it where it is to offer a more dynamic ride. Because not all race courses and trails are equal, ISM 4D does not compromise durability or stiffness despite using less material, therefore making this wheel suitable for racing and more demanding cross-country trails. To fully benefit from these high technology wheels, Crossmax SL Pro now come equipped with a set of Crossmax Pulse tires. Extensively developed to complement the wheel perfectly, the Pulse is fast and light but not limited to dry and flat trails. With their fast rolling compound on the centre tread and softer side knobs (Xmix dual compound), the Crossmax Pulse tire screams high speed rolling and confident cornering. Mavic also designed this tire to offer superior mud shredding characteristics for more grip in all conditions. With user-friendly UST (universal standard for tubeless) rims and lighter UST tubeless ready tires, this fast and light wheel/tire system brings all the benefits of tubeless - traction, control, lower risk of flats and reduced weight. Featuring the proven ITS-4 freewheel system on the rear providing quick engagement, Crossmax SL Pro hubs are compatible with multiple axle standards should you change your bike or your fork. On the technical side, the front hub is compatible with 9x100 mm quick release axle dropouts and 15x100 mm thru axles and the rear hub is compatible with 10x135mm quick release axle dropouts and 12x135 as well as 12x142 mm thru axles on the rear (all adapters included). Technologies: ISM4D(Inter Spoke Milling 4D) - An exclusive Mavic patented concept, ISM 4D not only significantly reduces weight and reduces inertia without compromising durability, but also improves aerodynamics due to its new rim shape. More advantages: up to 50 grams lighter for faster climbing; the lowest inertia for instant acceleration and a smooth aerodynamic rim shape to reduce drag. UST- Universal Standard for Tubeless. Ready to ride tubeless system. The UST concept improves traction, control and comfort whilst reducing inertia and flats. Fore- Instead of being drilled, the lower rim bridge is pushed up on the inside, then threaded to enable the spoke nipples to be directly screwed in it, leaving the upper rim bridge intact. QRM+(Qualité Roulements Mavic Plus) - Mavic Quality Bearings Plus. ITS4(Instant Transfer System) - Using 4 pawls working 2 by 2, the system provides a more dynamic ride, thanks to a very fast engagement. Its versatility makes it compatible with all kinds of frame retention system. Isopulse- The spokes are laced radially on the drive side and crossed 2 on the non drive side to maximise drive side dish, thus providing a better spoke tension balance between left and right flanges. Zicral- A specific aluminum alloy that provides spokes with higher stiffness-to-weight ratio while being stronger. Maxtal- Exclusive to Mavic. An aluminum alloy that is 30% more resistant than a 6106 alloy for lighter and spicier rims. SUP(Soudé Usiné Process) - A welded and milled rim joint which is extremely strong, eliminates shuddering when braking and offers superior wheel balance. Tire technologies: UST Tubeless Ready:The UST concept improves traction, control and comfort while reducing inertia and flats. The 'tubeless ready' construction results in a lighter tire for improved performance. Benefits of UST: traction, control, comfort. Tubeless Ready: lighter construction, perfectly air tight with the use of sealant. X-Mix:Rubber compound for more grip and durability, perfect for the enduro rear wheel.
